When circumstances require a group to leave Beam Benefits, a letter must be submitted to: adminsupport@beambenefits.com by the Authorized Administrator of the group in order to properly initiate the termination process.
Note: The Authorized Administrator is the person who either has Lighthouse Access, signed the applications, or is the group's BOR.
The letter must be submitted within 30 days of the effective date of the termination.
- Requests that are received prior to the effective date will be processed promptly. Balances will be refunded or collected as required to finalize the group.
- Requests that are received after the effective date are subject to claims usage checks for verification. We recommend sending termination notices early so it does not cause the termination to be pushed back to the next end of month termination effective date.
-
Retro-requests over 30 days will be processed at the most recent end of month termination effective date or at the nearest end of month termination effective date after the last claim was processed.
In order to process your termination, we must receive a termination letter from you that contains the following information:
1) Your Group Number.
2) Your requested effective date of termination. Due to our underwriting contracts, the effective date of termination must be the last day of the month.
3) A brief explanation of why you are requesting termination (i.e., price, switching carriers, bundling for savings, business closing, etc.).
For your convenience, a blank template for termination requests can be found at the bottom of this article.
Additional Group Termination Information:
- Many Benefits Administrators require the group to send the termination letter in order to process a termination request.
- Please be sure you confirm all termination requests by checking your account on our portal. If you are still being charged by Beam, contact us at adminsupport@beambenefits.com to inquire on the status of your request(s).
- Groups are not considered terminated when all the members have been terminated. A termination letter must be submitted in order to initiate the termination process.
- Groups that are being moved to a new broker of record but are staying with Beam do not have to submit a termination request. We can move the group to a new agent by submitting a BOR request to: bor@beambenefits.com
- For group terminations that have been submitted but need to be cancelled or recalled, submit your request immediately to adminsupport@beambenefits.com. Requests received within 30 days of the termination may be reinstated without lapse in coverage. Requests over 30 days may be subject to re-quoting.
- Groups that wish to end coverage may submit stop payment requests alongside their termination letters. Please do not put a stop payment on your account until you receive confirmation of your termination(s) as this can cause delinquencies on your account, resulting in the inability to reinstate your group in the future.
- Beam Benefits will send group termination confirmation(s) after receiving your request(s). Please follow up on all your termination-related request(s) if you have not received all of your termination confirmation(s) as your request(s) may not have completed the termination process.
