What is Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)?
Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) is an extra layer of security designed to protect your Beam Benefits account and the sensitive information it contains. In addition to your password, MFA requires a second verification step to ensure that only you can access your account—even if someone else knows your password.
MFA is a best practice widely used by companies across the insurance and benefits industry to safeguard members, clients, and brokers. At Beam Benefits, we take your privacy and account security seriously, and MFA is part of our commitment to keeping your information safe.
Why is Beam Benefits enabling MFA?
We are introducing MFA to:
- Protect your personal and health-related information
- Prevent unauthorized access to your account
- Follow security best practices when handling login credentials
- Provide peace of mind for members, brokers, and clients alike
By enabling MFA, we’re helping ensure that your Beam Benefits account is as secure as possible while maintaining a smooth, user-friendly login experience.
When will MFA be available?
MFA will be gradually rolled out to all Beam Benefits users starting in late September through mid-October. Once enabled, MFA will be required each time you log in from a new device or browser.
How does MFA work at Beam Benefits?
Using MFA at Beam Benefits is simple and straightforward. Here’s how it works:
-
Log in
Visit beambenefits.com/login or https://auth.beambenefits.com/login.
-
Enter your credentials
Use the email and password you registered with your Beam Benefits account.
-
Receive a security code
After entering your password, a 6-digit security code will be sent to your registered email address.
-
Enter the code
Paste or type in the 6-digit code to complete your login and access your account.
This process ensures that even if someone obtains your password, they cannot access your account without the unique code sent to your email.
Tips for a smooth MFA experience
-
Keep your email secure: MFA codes are sent to your registered email, so make sure your email account has a strong password and is protected.
-
Use a trusted device: Logging in from a personal device reduces the number of times you’ll be prompted for MFA.
-
Check your spam folder: If you don’t see your code email immediately, it may have been filtered by your email provider. Please check the spam folder or deleted folder.
-
Contact support if needed: If you have trouble receiving or entering your code, our Support Team is here to help.
-
Ensure that MFA is properly set up: If a single account is shared between two or more members, please be aware that the first person who sets up MFA will permanently link that account to their device. All other users that shared login will be locked out. To avoid disruption, please ensure the primary user completes the MFA setup.
What if I lose access to my email?
If you no longer have access to the email address associated with your Beam Benefits account, contact our support team immediately. They will guide you through a secure process to update your account and regain access.
